In this group the user can share, and publish different output formats created in SimLab Composr, as well as retrieve 3D models from Onshape.

Share

This function enables users to share their 3D scenes in different formats on SimLab cloud. The first time a user selects this option the Login dialog will appear, where the user can sign in/sign up.

Once the user logs in, the Cloud Sharing dialog will appear, allowing the user to share created 3D scenes with full features in any of the listed formats. Full features mean all created animation, scene states, actions and more. By default a user will start with a trial sharing space of 2 GB valid for 3 months.

A user can manage uploaded files by clicking the Manage Cloud Files button in the Cloud Sharing dialog, which will open the Sharing Manager dialog. As the sharing period or space are expired, a user can purchase SimLab Sharing keys. To learn more about sharing methods and capabilities you can refer to this video tutorial.

Retrieve

This function button will open the Onshape cloud, from where a user can import CAD models into SimLab Composer. Onshape is integrated with SimLab Composer, that means cloud based documents can be imported to SimLab Composer right from Onshape's cloud storage. The user needs to create an account at www.onshape.com

With Onshape, CAD models are available and accessible from anywhere, and a user can get the models directly from Onshape cloud.

Once a user has an Onshape account, and the Retrieve button is clicked, the Import from Onshape Cloud dialog will open. From this dialog a user can navigate the files on the cloud server, it is similar to the interface of the Onshape cloud system. You can access your documents, the files you created, your shared files, and also the public server.
Once you select a folder from the list, the contents of this folder will be displayed in the documents list. Then select a document to display all the elements included in that document. After that select an element and Click import to access the selected design from the OnShape cloud server through SimLab Composer.

Publish

This function button will open the Sketchfab cloud, which allows the user to share 3D models on a cloud server, view them and share them online. To create an account the user needs to click on Sketchfab button, this will allow a user to upload models directly on Sketchfab clouds. Publishing to Sketchfab will not share full features created in the 3D scense, as in Share option. Actions, scene states, and animations will not be included.

SimLab Composer will start preparing your scene to be uploaded, once the process is completed, a dialog will appear for the user to fill model information.

Once the uploading is completed a message will appear, with a link to the uploaded model. The message will also ask whether to copy the upload link to the clipboard in order to be able to use it by pasting in a web browser.
