In SimLab Composer, it is easy to copy a material from one object to another.
Click on the object to show its material in the Properties Panel, now you can drag the material icon and drop it on a new object to copy material properties to the new object, as shown in the following image.
This will create identical materials in the scene, the user can reduce them by clicking the Merge Identical Materials button in the Scene Materials dialog.
