From the new Plugins menu that will appear in 3DS max after installing the plug-in, select SolidWorks importer and then Import SolidWorks file. Select the Solidworks file to import and in few seconds you should have the model added to your 3DS scene.

How to use the plugin?

After installing the plugin, it automatically registers itself in Autodesk 3DS, and adds the new top level menu SimLab. The user will be able to import SolidWorks models by clicking the menu  SimLab -> Import.

The Import window will open, select SolidWorks as the file type to be imported, then browse to the file folder and open it.
